Goulburn Carnival of Cups
On Course Activities:
Carnival of Cups race day is the Goulburn club’s principal meeting of the season. Conducted during the Australia Day weekend, the fixture hosts the best available horses in New South Wales and provides harness fans and families an outstanding afternoon of entertainment
The clubs signature race is the Goulburn Soldiers Club sponsored Frank & Edna Day Goulburn Cup. The $30,000 Group 3 race is contested over the 2240 metre distance and the honour role lists many of Australia’s very best pacers including Inter Dominion winner Tiger Tara, Miracle Mile winner Baby Bling, and the course and race record holder For A Reason who lists among his many wins the 2013 Victoria Cup
While the racing is the big draw card, Carnival of Cups race day also brings many side attractions with entertainment for all the family
The day is also used to support important local organisations. In previous years, the gate takings have been donated to Goulburn High School and the Goulburn Base Hospital. This year the harness club is throwing its support behind the Goulburn ‘Convoy For Kids’ charity which supports local children with cancer, terminal illness and permanent disabilities by donating every dollar of the gate takings
