Tamworth radio personality Emma Bailey will be speaking into a very different microphone when Harness Racing New South Wales’ Carnival of Cups comes to town on Australia Day.

The 88.9FM night time host will be keeping proceedings on point as the official stage MC, ushering on a fleet of Australia’s hottest country music talent.

Robbie Mortimer will get things started with his up-tempo show before Bella Mackenzie, who wowed the nation as one of the leading contenders on Guy Sebastian’s team on the last season of The Voice Australia hits the stage.

Patrons have been warned to be in the mood to dance when chart-topping trio Southbound xo perform and that’s followed by what promises to be a memorable set full of all the hits you know and love by the incomparable Adam Brand.

“I’m really excited. I’ve always loved working with all of these artists, but it’s usually through an interview either standing in front of them with a microphone or over the phone on air. To now be actually sharing a stage with them is something I can’t wait to do,” Emma said.

“This is event is going to be massive. There will be something for everyone and the fact that it’s free, what more could you want? It’s honestly going to be the best country party you’ll ever attend.

“With that line-up of artists you’ll see and hear a bit of everything. It will be vibrant and fun. You’ll hear some beautiful ballads and basically see the is, was and who’s coming in Australian country music.

“I can already picture it. Everyone is going to be on their feet dancing and singing along. I think it’s going to be one of the best events I’ve ever been involved in.”

It will be a busy week for Emma, who hosts the Hottest Australian Country Hits and Saturday Night Party Mix shows on 88.9FM. She will be spending her afternoons at the iconic FanZone in the city’s CBD as the Tamworth Country Music Festival Week buzz ramps up.

“There is something special about Country Music Week. It’s notorious around the world and our city does such a great job in putting it on,” Emma said.

“To now be adding another massive event to the program at the Tamworth Harness Racing Club, it’s just sensational and something I hope everyone makes the effort to get out and be part of.”

Harness Racing NSW is delighted to be working with Emma, who was a 2022 Young Woman of the Year finalist at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
