One of Australia’s most successful rock acts will join the Harness Racing New South Wales Carnival of Cups party with a show-stopping free performance in Albury on 16 February.

You Am I will bring their powerhouse show to the Carnival of Cups stage to celebrate the running of the inaugural Murray Cup.

They will share the main stage with Carnival of Cups alumni The Whitlams and Sarah McLeod who are returning for more after already wowing crowds in Cowra and Young.

“What a thrill to be adding You Am I to the growing list of iconic Australian music acts that have been part of this new and exciting way of delivering the Carnival of Cups in towns and communities across New South Wales,” Harness Racing NSW Chief Executive Peter Buckman said.

“The Whitlams and Sarah McLeod were both exceptional and left a huge impression after the first two legs of the Carnival of Cups program so I am delighted that they have been so enthusiastic about returning to the fold and putting on another memorable performance.

“To now be throwing another big band like You Am I into the mix, wow, what a line-up! Three huge names in Australian music who are as good as it gets live and racegoers get to see them all for free!”

You Am I are a 10-time ARIA award-winning group who became the first Australian band to release three-successive albums that debuted at number 1 on the ARIA charts.

You Am I front-man Tim Rogers said he was excited to be joining the Carnival of Cups circuit.

“Some of our good friends have already been part of the Carnival of Cups tour and we’ve heard good things so when the opportunity came along to join in the party we jumped at the chance,” Tim said.

“We love the good people of Albury and we can’t wait to join the incredible Sarah McLeod and The Whitlams and put on a gig people are going to remember for a long time to come.”

The Carnival of Cups meeting at Albury on 16 February is free to attend but you’ll need a ticket to get in.
